Blu

I make love to my mate all throughout the night, so that she sleeps with me for most of the day. I find it more comforting to rest in a warm bed than in a coffin like Kade and the others. With Bella by my side, it's even more calming. Eventually, she rises around midday to care for Journey. I watch her get out of bed and throw on her pants. Before she can slip out the door, I'm standing behind her. She smiles, stealing a kiss from me.

"I don't think many women would accept this life Blu, but I cherish being mated to you." Her words fill my heart with warmth and I have an urge to take her back to bed again and make her climax. But I have commitments now and I don't know how to look after a cat. So, I carry the bags down for her before she takes them off the counter. She grins, her bright red hair flowing down as I set them aside for her to go through them.

"I've never had a pet," I tell her. She chuckles at me and hands me a litter box.

"Come, let's setup Journey's litter box in the bathroom," she suggests. I agree and follow her in there. When she notices me yawning, she laughs.

“Go back to bed, Blu. I'll finish up and come back.” I shake my head. She doesn't understand the pull . It can be treacherous when you finally feel it -- they say some mates have gone temporarily insane before the curse was cast upon us. I can only imagine what my Princess went through while I was away.

“No.” I tell her firmly. I stay until she's finished setting everything up for Journey. She grabs a sandwich tray from last night and eats another sandwich.

“I'll order a grocery delivery later - but first I wanted to make sure Journey is okay.” I smile at her; nobility exuding from her in waves as she puts others' needs ahead of herself. But that won't work now that I'm here and responsible for her too - she won't ever have to worry about that again, not while I'm here to take care of her.

I pick her up and carry her and the plate of food back to our bedroom where we settle in together comfortably without struggle or question - though I wish I could feel the pull of my mate, for it is key to fully bonding us together as one. Placing my hand over my chest, I enjoy the beat of my heart as a reminder that we are mated, yet it is still not enough until Bella cuddles into me, allowing me to drift off to sleep eventually - only to wake up with the pleasure of looking down upon my mate, feeling almost complete. She is everything; my entire world.

Tonight, I'm taking her out. The bruise on her face looks worse and that only intensifies my rage. I need to hunt them but my responsibilities outweigh my desires for now.
